What is Artificial Intelligence : The word AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence is in vogue. You might have come across this word even while swiping your reel on Instagram. May be there you have also seen a photo or video made with the help of AI. Have you ever thought that you watch a video very carefully on Facebook or Instagram..
Then after that how come the same videos keep appearing in your feed continuously? Or you search for something on Flipkart or Amazon, even if you haven’t bought that thing, how come you keep seeing its ads again and again on your Facebook-Instagram or in any game? All this happens only because of AI. Actually, social media companies understand the pattern of user interest using AI and collect their data. Using this data, they show such ads or feeds to the user.
What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)
AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence is called artificial intelligence in Hindi, which means artificial intelligence developed in an artificial way. Artificial intelligence is an advanced branch of computer science. In this, an attempt is made to make a machine so intelligent through computer programming, so that it can think and take decisions like humans.
In other words, through artificial intelligence, such a computer system or robotic system is prepared, which tries to run on the basis of the same logic on the basis of which a human brain works.
Who started AI and when?
American computer scientist John McCarthy is considered to be the father of artificial intelligence. In 1956, McCarthy organized the Dortmouth Conference. In this conference, for the first time, he discussed the concept and possibilities of AI. According to John McCarthy, AI is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs.. which means intelligence demonstrated by machines.
Although AI started in the 1950s, it got recognition in the early 1980s. In 1981, Japan started a scheme named Fifth Generation using this technology. In this, the outline of a 10-year program for the development of super-computers was presented.
After Japan, the attention of other countries also turned towards this. Britain created a project named ‘Elvy’ for this. The countries of the European Union also started a program called ‘Esprit’. After this, in 1983, some private institutions together established an organization ‘Micro-Electronics and Computer Technology’ to develop advanced technologies applicable to Artificial Intelligence, such as Very Large Scale Integrated Circuit.
future of AI
The future of Artificial Intelligence is very exciting. Everyday something new is happening about this technology. Nowadays, its advanced and deep learning models are developing very fast, which are being used in many things like medical diagnosis, self-driving cars, smart homes, stock market analysis, etc. It will prove to be of great help in shaping various aspects of our lives. Artificial intelligence is playing an important role in the field of economic development and social progress.
